To provide senior planning role within the area team, coordinating the planning service on behalf of the Senior Project Manager/Area Manager. Responsible for the day to day planning service to the team, ensuring that information is developed in an accurate timely manor giving advice on the prioritisation of tasks, deliverables and resource across the portfolio of work scopes. Responsible for the day to day supervision, training and mentoring of planners within the team. Service to be provided in accordance with Company processes and procedures. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES -Demonstrate commitment to Operating System, in particular the PEM processes, providing schedule input for PEM reviews. -Manage the day to day work loading of the planning function to the assigned project/area team and be responsible for the quality and timely delivery of the service. -Undertake the planning and resource loading for the assigned work scope(s), giving proactive, effective advice on the feasibility of plans, the impact of any changes and any required mitigating actions. -Assessing risk to delivery of schedules, recommending risk reducing actions where required in order to gain better confidence of OTD. -Undertake lead planning roles in major projects. Coordinating planning interfaces between work packs, supporting the project managers with guidance and advice on required proactive and mitigating actions whilst ensuring the accurate status throughout all work scopes. -When required, undertake programme management duties. This will include establishing priorities between work scope deliveries, coordinating programme change control arrangements and advising project managers, area managers and senior management on the correct course of action in order to optimise overall work scope delivery. -Preparation of work breakdown structures to enable the associated resource and cost budgets. -To update computer network schedule as required, to reflect the latest situation of status for use in both project reports and management reports. -Support the schedule change control requirements within the project/area team, analysing the change for its potential impact and advising on the correct course of mitigating action. -Organisation of project reporting procedures and project control liaison with clients. -Provide planning control support to the marketing department on proposals. -Ensure that the plans within SAP are aligned with the Primavera plan. -Deputise for Planning Manager and/or Lead Planners. -Review of ITTs in line with current planning practices and revert with calculations/exceptions to contractual obligation. -Training, development and mentoring of current and new members to the Planning Department and to champion the spread of planning knowledge throughout the project/work teams. -Where necessary establish recovery plans. -Personally responsible for the quality of their work, their teams output, whilst making a positive contribution to the quality of both the department and the work carried out by their colleagues. As necessary, perform other duties, requiring essentially the same level of skill & responsibility when required. COMPETENCE REQUIREMENTS QUALIFICATIONS Desirable Requirements -Minimum NVQ Level 3 or ONC qualification (or equivalent) SPECIFIC TRAINING AND SPECIALIST SKILLS Essential Requirements -Knowledge in Word, Windows, Excel and Powerpoint, -Working knowledge in computer planning software. Desirable Requirements -Working knowledge in Primavera P3E. -Word knowledge in SAP. COMPETENCIES Essential Requirements -Demonstrable experience in relevant industry position. -Detail Planning – ability to use when further details is required below activity level of network (eg. documents, work orders, procurement milestones). -Network Planning - establishing and maintenance of precedence network with logical constraints. -Proven ability of reviewing and identifying of risk in plan, to monitor the different risk factors. -Proven ability in very detailed planning executed in a short time period.
