Role:-Planning Manager Location:- South West England Salary:- Circa £80,000 + Package Job Description A Major Oil and Gas client are currently looking to appoint a Planning Manager who will be responsible for leading project planning teams. The successful candidate will be required to spend periods of time in the UK and then follow projects through, therefore opportunities to work overseas will be available. This is a senior position, which requires the ideal candidate to have a thorough knowledge of planning techniques, together with international engineering and supervisory experience. Requirements The Planning Manager will be required to: •Manage planning work on major EPC projects with multi-centre joint venture execution. •Manage large multicultural teams of Planning Engineers. •Mentor and train planning staff. •Manage the planning and scheduling of work on projects to ensure that activities are effectively planned, resourced and completed. •Liaise closely with client personnel / project management to maintain satisfactory working relationships, identify potential problem areas and propose solutions. •Communicating and delegating where appropriate. •Analyse the overall schedule, risks and propose mitigating actions. •Commercial awareness. •Demonstrable knowledge of cost control and document control disciplines •Experience in earned value progress measurement systems used in engineering and construction phases. •Experience in planning the systems turnover from Construction to Commissioning. The Individual The successful applicant for this role will have: 1.Must be proficient in Primavera software including schedule risk. 2.Experience of planning major multibillion dollar EPC and FEED phase projects as a Lead/Principal Planning Engineer or Planning Manager. 3.Experience in Home Office and Construction Planning including overseas assignments. 4.The ability to take initiative, make decisions and communicate at all levels. 5.The ability to coordinate work within an integrated multidisciplinary team. 6.Excellent written and oral communication skills. 7.Previous supervision / management experience. 8.The ability to represent the company at senior management level on schedule matters. The role will also involve overseas travel for office / site visits when required.
