A national engineering and construction main contractor are looking to appoint a Planning Engineer to be based in their Nottingham office. This multi discipline contractor provides a range of services to rail, energy and engineering industries and value themselves on their renowned record for safety, quality and industry integrity, along with an excellent reputation.
The primary function of the Planning Engineer is to implement and manage the planning and programming activities to meet the project objectives efficiently and within deadline. Project will be within the transmission and distribution market and will include the refurbishment or renewal of over head lines.
You will also have direct contact with clients, production of design programmes, attendance to tender meetings. Optimise and implement construction planning and programmes (including resources, outages, consents and wayleaves) in conjunction with interested parties to deliver the work. Work with the planning manager to define; produce and maintain the planning and project controls procedures; this should extend to working with the Quality Assurance function to ensure that the procedures are being adhered to. Take a lead role in developing the tender/bid programmes , including organising and chairing the programme related meetings i.e. Interface meeting ; programme sign off meeting etc.
All applicants will need to demonstrate and possess the following to be considered for the role:
Minimum HND/HNC or higher qualification
Background with multi discipline projects for main contractors
Experience working within the energy, rail or utilities markets
IT & Primavera P6 software proficient
Pro active with a flexible attitude
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
