What would be the quickest way (excel import etc.,) of creating acitivty code - project level code dictionary in P6V7 comprising around 500 elements. Thanks,

There is a feature however Its independent of Primavera version as Its kind of a third party utility excel SDK. Essentially what it does is to rewrite a fraction of source code ( in VB ) to incorporate import feature. In normal excel export , this option is never available as it wont go beyond Level 1 Code , Its a custom UDF. All great but problem is you have to set this at EPS level with global import and not a project code. I’d be glad if someone knows the similar or any other solution to import at Project level.

We normally use import/ export in to P6 for Assigning the codes to activities using excel and that works fine for activities in the range of 2500+ activities. The work inclusive of checks and validations does not take more than a few hrs and gives accurate results. Code Dictionaries defining is a one off process on a project and is currently being on the Code Dictionary dialog interface directly. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
