Hello, I have question for the experienced guys in the house, how often does one create a baseline, is it with every update or just at the begining of a project especially an EPC project.Thanks for your anticipated replies.Ken.
Usually its done when project is off (way ahead or too delayed) from the original planned curve. There are no set criteria or formula on when you should (re) baseline and all depends upon contractual requirements and PM/Project Controls judgement. Ex., if you are supposed to be 25% and you are 15% (actual) so tracking the original curve of 25% onwards wont make sense unless you have solid recovery plan to catch up 10% in following months. In this case, you may go for rebaseline.. Hope this answers..
