The Project Control Framework provides a clear, pragmatic approach
to the project management of major road projects by the Department
for Transport. It sets out the respective roles of the centre of the
Department and the Highways Agency and defines the steps by
which projects are developed. Not only will this make it easier for us
to deliver major road schemes, but it will also enable us to make
more informed decisions about their development and delivery. This
will enable us to manage more effectively the funds that are
entrusted to us, proactively identifying and dealing with risk and
change.
