ARES PRISM
Crossrail, Europe's largest construction project with a budget of GBP 14.8 billion, uses PRISMG2 as its core cost management system. "During the 2 years PRISMG2 has been in use, it has provided a transparent and efficient way to view cost data" in the words of Rob Halstead (Head of Risk Management at Crossrail).
One of the key aspects of Crossrail's approach to risk management is the extension of tools and techniques to their supply chain. There is a great deal of involvement from the organisations and contractors engaged in the project. Personnel across 28 different Contractors who are currently engaged in this mammoth project is using Active Risk Manager to record their risks, before passing information to Crossrail where PRISMG2 is also used to capture these costs.
PRISMG2 is a product of the ARES Project Management LLC. It is an integrated project cost management solution designed to help organisations to reduce cost, mitigate risk and improve overall project performance. PRISMG2 is built on EVM principles and has been designed to record, monitor and analyse the risks associated with both schedule and cost overruns.
Crossrail is certainly in distinguished company here. However, there are other large projects using this system of Cost Management system too, for example, NASA international Space Station, several other Civil, oil and gas, mining project. Presently, organisations in more than 50 countries use PRISMG2 to manage their projects.
