The Index Performance Portlet Overview

This post is going to outline how to use the Index Performance portlet on the P6 R8 dashboard. The Index Performance Portlet enables you to display Schedule Performance Index (SPI), Cost Performance Index (CPI), and To Complete Performance Index (TCPI) calculations.

• SPI indicates whether you are meeting earned and planned values within your schedule
• CPI indicates whether you have spent money over the budget to date
• TCPI enables you to determine the level of performance needed to achieve the cost or time objectives

Key Performance indicators assist you in gauging whether these index values are within an allowable range or whether you will must take corrective measures, due to the thresholds you determine. The Key Performance Indicators are essential for measuring the performance of your project and are one of the most important metrics used to gauge the status of a project.
