Let's discuss the Project Statistics Portlet in the Primavera P6 Release 8 dashboard. Measuring a project’s statistics is one of the more crucial ways of concluding if a project is moving along as expected. Statistics allow Primavera P6 users access to insight into the project’s performance.
The Project Statistics Portlet is strategic in that it allows Program and Project Managers to choose the information that they would like to keep an eye on to improve the way the portfolio is managed as well as the individual projects within the portfolio. The example in this blog shows setting up the portlet to display cost performance data by displaying the baseline costs compared to the at completion cost with a variance. The portlet displays the overall health of the portfolio as well as the projects in the portfolio. Managers can then drill down to view the WBS statistics to conduct additional research on the project.
